Introduction
Indeed the times are changing. A couple of decades ago, children are known to enjoy outdoor games, fort building and so on. Presently, they watch T.V, stay online for a better part of their time, play their High-tech games and toy with their sophisticated toys.
Max Polyakov (The founder of Association Noosphere), believes that engineering and technological advancement are integral part of the part of human existence and should be promoted among children. Contrary to the usual boring way of introducing engineering to students, Max Ployakov introduced it to children in a more enticing form, robot festival (BestRoboFest).
What is BestRoboFest?
BestRoboFest is a festival of engineering, innovation and robotics founded in 2016 by Max polyakov and Association Noosphere. It is an all-Ukraine competition targeted at creating awareness and building children interest in engineering and technology. Association Noosphere believes that when Children are acquainted with the latest discoveries in the field of engineering, they are bound to grasp the full knowledge of this high-tech industry and even pull a great stunt of their own.
The Festival so far
BestRoboFest, 2016.
The founder of Association Noosphere, Max Polyakov initiated the BestRoboFest in 2016. The Robotics festival held at Marakov National Aerospace Educational Centre for Youths in Dnipro.
The festival witnessed more than 3000 spectators gathered at Dnipro in 2016 as disclosed by liga.net. The euphoria of learning and seeing new things in the technological world and eagerness of the festival participants made the event an historic and ever anticipated one.
In the 2016, BestRoboFest, a total of 134 participants whose ages range from 6-60 years gave the whole a spectator a captivating competition.
Dnipropetrovsk national university team claimed the grand prize for a showmanship of their Mars Rover Project.
Even the famous R2D2, the star war character, didn’t miss the festival. The likes of BB-8, robot greenhouse, the famous disney’s WALL-E, robot NAO and others present at the expo-zone.
BestRoboFest, 2017
In 2017, Max polyakov raised the bar to an epic proportion for tech-lovers. The festival was moved to Meteor Complex in Dnipro to cater for new activities added and ever increasing spectators.
BestRoboFest 2017 held between 3rd to 4th June, with over 10,000 spectators gathered (an exponential growth compared to the previous year) with 187 robotic models competing.
In the competition, Beckman Bicycle won the 3rd place, followed by “Thrashner” , a fire breathing car made by mad max. The first place went to “zbochinets” the steampunk bike.
BestRoboFest, 2018
The 2-day featival took place at Bartolomeo Best River resort in Dnipro, Ukraine. This time around the spectators increased to 25,000. A total of 400 robots were in the expo-zone. Over 1200 rockets were created during the course of the festival.
Didenko project, Z-Max and BMW 340 Phantom won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
Conclusion
Max Polyakov and the Noosphere foundation are making massive impact in the field of engineering and robotics their initiation, “BestRoboFest” is motivating younger generation to dive into engineering and Robotics.
